F&T Recognized for Donation to Visiting Mom Project

Fiedler Law Firm, P.L.C. | May 2, 2014 | Public Good

Last fall, the Iowa Organization of Women Attorneys (I.O.W.A.) teamed with Polk County Women Attorneys and the Ashcraft Library Project to help raise money for the Visiting Mom Project.  The project, initiated by Judges Paulsen and Bremer, raised funds to establish a special meeting room for incarcerated mothers to visit with their children at the Iowa Correctional Institute for Women in Mitchellville.

During a recent PCWA meeting, Fiedler & Timmer agreed to match any donation made during the event.  In total, over $15,000 was raised for the Visiting Mom Project, which allowed for the purchase of 360 books, $2,500 of educational games, a large train table and train set, a Duplo black table and blocks, a fully furnished doll house, a play kitchen and dishes, shelves, rocking chairs, and toy storage bins.

The attorneys from Fiedler & Timmer attended an open house celebrating the opening of the new facility in October 2013.
